Pastor Michael earned his Bachelor of Theology from Portland Bible College in 1994 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Regent University School of Law in 1999. Before coming to Newport News he was active in student and local church ministries for fifteen years in Oregon, New York and Virginia. His ministerial experience ranges from church planting, administration, finances, counseling, leadership development, instructing accredited Bible College courses, pulpit ministry, youth ministry development and implementation and bylaw construction.

He law clerked for the American Center of Law and Justice in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and also served as Assistant District Attorney in St. Lawrence County, New York before going into full time ministry. His occupational experiences have been diverse and include owning his own contracting business and contract and real estate sales. Michael, and his wife Heather , have a heart for people and a passion to see relational discipleship modeled in every person's life. In January, 2006, Michael and Heather, with their three children Caedon, Gavin, and Owen, launched The City Life Church in Newport News, Virginia with a team sent out from Christian Life Center in Williamsburg, Virginia. Presently they are doing "double duty" serving both as Lead Pastors of their church in Virginia as well as assuming the responsibilities of Lead Pastors for The City Church D.C., a new church plant from The City Church in Seattle, Washington.

Pastors Wendell and Gini Smith are the Senior Pastors of The City Church in Kirkland, Washington, "One Church in Many Locations" with over 6000 in attendance weekly. Pastor Wendell is co-chairman of Ministers Fellowship International and on the boards for Church Growth International and Global Pastor's Network. Pastors Wendell and Gini reside in Issaquah, Washington and have three grandchildren.

Pastors Ken and Connie Wilde are the Senior Pastors of Capital Christian Center in Boise, Idaho, with over 2000 attendees. Pastor Ken has served as the Chaplain of the Idaho State Senate and was a finalist for the office of Chaplain for the US House of Representatives. Pastors Ken and Connie have three adult children and reside in Boise, Idaho.

Pastors Frank and Sharon Damazio are the Senior Pastors of City Bible Church, a diverse congregation meeting in multiple locations with over 5,000. Pastor Frank has authored over 25 books on church leadership and personal spiritual growth. He resides in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Sharon, and four children.
